cooling menthol muscle balm

With all these muscle balms, I’m having to do extra workouts just so I can review them all! Not that I’m complaining too much, it’s all good fun and if it can help speed up my recovery time then how can you moan. This is one of four muscle balms available on the Naturecan website, all of which will be reviewed on CBD Sloth, so make sure to look through all the other options.

What Does This Tub Include?

The 30ml tub contains 300mg of CBD, while you will get around 5-10mg of CBD per use, depending on how generous your application is.

One of the main ingredients is Glyceryl Monostearate, which you might have questions about if you’re an athlete, as it was previously banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, however they reversed this in 2018.

It helps to keep the body hydrated and increasing blood flow through the body, which can help to increase muscle growth. You can therefore understand the pertinence of it being included in this muscle balm. Anyway you can gain hyperemia is a winner.

The second most common ingredient is GMO palm oil powder. Palm oil can help to decrease oxidative stress, plus it has a number of skin benefits, not that this is the reason you’re taking it. The palm oil will help to moisturise the skin it is applied to, while it’s also suitable for sensitive skin types.

The product contains Ceteareth-20, as this helps it to penetrate the skin, so all of the ingredients can pass through and take effect. This glycol ether chemical compound is commonly used in beauty products, such as moisturisers, conditioners, face masks, exfoliators and cleansers.

This product also contains medium chained triglycerides, which I’ve written about numerous times for its ability to help enhance the bioavailability of CBD when consumed together, however it also has a number of benefits when it comes to working out. MCT oil can stimulate insulin release, which is why many people take it either pre or post workout. It’s an excellent source of energy which can help you to push harder, which is why I normally have a shot before a workout (warning if you do, it also speeds up certain things, so make sure not to have too much otherwise you will quickly need the toilet).

But the ingredient the packaging highlights the most is the menthol crystals, which are commonly used to treat aches and pains after a workout. They’re counterirritants, cooling the skin down and helping with joint discomfort.

How Do You Apply It?

I used this after my workouts for a week, simply taking a pea sized amount and rubbing it into the area of muscle I’ve been working on. I used a bit extra on my lower back, having had a heavy deadlift session at the start of the week, so I was aching quite a bit.

As with many topical treatments, you want to make sure it properly penetrates the skin, so you should keep on rubbing until you feel it start to soak through, rather than leaving it wet on the skin.

Where Can I Purchase This From?

You can purchase the Naturecan CBD muscle balm cooling menthol tub from their website, while you might want to check the full range of muscle creams they offer before making your final decision.
