This was undoubtedly the product that instantly jumped out when I looked through the Sunday Scaries website. They produce a range of different gummies, but these looked completely different to every other product on the market. This is following on from my review of the Sunday Scaries Bra Bearies.
How Do They Taste?
Absolutely scrumptious, as I’m quickly starting to expect with anything produced by Sunday Scaries. They describe the flavour as ‘tutti-fruity’, which makes me feel like I’m going to have some Italian ice cream.
If you don’t know, tutti frutti translates to ‘all fruits’, meaning it’s a combination of several fruity flavours together. I could definitely taste a hint of apple, which I loved.
The Reason Behind The Jerky
This colourful creation actually has a sad backstory. The co-founder Mike Sill’s little sister passed away in 2011 from suicide, so he wanted to create this joyful candy in her memory.
They also donate £1 from every sale of the Unicorn Jerky to the Trevor Project, which is a great cause trying to offer support in schools and curb youth suicide.
How Much CBD Do You Get?
Each rainbow candy provides you with 10mg of CBD. The pieces were slightly different shapes and sizes to each other, so this is a general rule, but do be aware that if a piece is bigger or smaller than the rest, then you will have slightly more or less than 10mg. The lab report highlighted slightly below this level, at 9.8mg, but just missing out fractionally.
This is a CBD isolate, extracted from Colorado grown industrial hemp. An isolate is often used in gummies to prevent certain terpenes affecting the flavour of the finished product.
How Many Do You Get In A Pack?
There are 10 pieces of CBD candy in each pack of Unicorn Jerky, meaning you get 100mg of CBD per pouch.
They recommend taking 1-2 CBD candy rainbow strips in the morning or midday ‘when you want to chill out and smile’. While I often take CBD oil in the morning, I prefer to take gummies either in the morning or during the day, so the sugar is burned off throughout the day.
Taking 1-2 per day would provide you with 10-20mg of CBD per day. I often consume 40mg for sleep purposes over a 24 hour period, which would work out as four pieces, but I have a higher tolerance level to most, considering how many I’ve tried over the past couple of years.
