naturopathica lozenges

Today I’m reviewing the Naturopathica CBD lozenges, served in a great tasting citrus flavour. What I love about this supplement is the combination with other nutritional ingredients which can help strengthen your immune system.

Aren’t You Only Meant To Consume CBD Sublingually?

No, I’ve written in the past about how sublingual consumption of CBD is important when taking CBD oil, however the CBD in the  lozenges can be absorbed perfectly. There are an increasing amount of ways in which you can now consume CBD, while this is a great option if you’re not a fan of the taste of CBD oil, smoking or swallowing tablets.

How Does It Taste?

I have to be very open and say I really like the taste of them. The citrus flavour is just like a sweet I used to eat during childhood.

Where Can I Buy These From?

These can be purchased from the naturopathica website. You can also find them in a number of CBD stores and they should increasingly be seen across the country as an increasing number of stockists are offering them.

What Are The Benefits Of The Other Ingredients?

You’ve undoubtedly heard all of the amazing benefits of Vitamin C, including the high level of antioxidants that fight off free radicals, how it helps with your blood pressure, fighting heart disease factors and improving iron absorption, hence why it is a key ingredient in this product, but there are many others you might not know about as much.

Zinc is something you certainly want to consume plenty of in order to support your immune system functionality and fighting off any potential infections. B vitamins are also important for your brain functionality and cell metabolism. You will also find niacin in this supplement, which lowers triglycerides and LDL cholesterol and helping to prevent heart disease.

The final ingredient I wanted to highlight was the presence of omega fatty acids, 44mg to be precise (in 2 lozenges). The list of benefits of omega fatty acids is extreme, including the likes of promoting brain health, eye health and lowering risk of heart disease. However another reason this is an important ingredient is that omega 3 is the only essential nutrient your body requires but doesn’t produce itself. We severely lack omega 3 in our Western diets, opting for red meat over fish (despite being surrounded by the sea) which is another reason for our issues around obesity.

How Many Do I Take In One Go?

You’re meant to take two lozenges per day, however you can split it however you prefer, whether both at once or one in the morning and one in the evening.

How Much CBD Do I Get In A Serving?

Each lozenge contains 10mg of CBD, while as you should consume 2 per day, this means 20mg of CBD. It goes without saying, but the supplement contains less than 0.2% THC. They utilise hemp derived cannabidiol, made in Switzerland.

Does It Contain Sugar?

While the mere mention of a sweet flavoured lozenge, I know most people would presume it was packed full of added sugar, a naughty ingredient for anyone watching their weight. However, they utilise a number of sweeteners to offer the great taste, including sorbitol, maltitol, sucralose and acesulfame K.

How Did It Feel When You Took Them?

The effect was actually surprisingly quick, considering I thought it would take a lot longer when consumed in this form. The general guideline with CBD is that when taken sublingually with oil, it takes 20 minutes, but with an edible it often takes up to 2 hours. Having said that, I felt like I felt the effects after approximately 30-60 minutes.

How Long Should A Pack Last?

The pack contains 20 lozenges, so if you were to consume two per day then you have 10 days worth. If you’re talking about the life expectancy, then the pack I have has two years on the best before date. Remember that a best before date doesn’t mean it will be gone off when that time passes, it just means the highlighted nutritional breakdown might be incorrect as the product ages.
