holobiomics

I have to admit, I’ve really enjoyed testing out the CBD chewable tablets by Holobiomics. When they first arrived, I was a little bit worried that I would have to swallow the tablets, as I’m useless at swallowing pills, but I was then filled with relief as I saw they were chewable (the clue was in the name really), packed with a great taste.

As far as I’m aware, this is the first chewable CBD tablet in the UK, so I doth my cap to them!

How Do They Taste?

Holobiomics offer the chewable tablets in three different flavours, being berry, orange and mint.

The berry flavour was incredible, I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what berry has that flavour, but it tasted amazing. This was also my other half’s favourite flavour, so I found her pinching them when I wasn’t looking.

The mint had the aroma of a soft mint or mentos (no surprises there), while the orange was scrumptious, reminding me of my morning vitamin gummies (yes, I still eat vitamin gummies like a child).

Some of the sweetness is created by the presence of xylitol, a sugar substitute which has a low score on the glycaemic index (important to know as my girlfriend suffers from diabetes type 1).

Xylitol also has that added benefit of actually helping to kill bacteria in the mouth, therefore making it a great tool for fighting dental decay.

What should also be highlighted is that many CBD edibles can taste strongly of hemp, whereas this wasn’t the case with the chewable tablets.

How Do You Take Them?

You simply chew the tablet until it’s in little pieces in the mouth, then I’d shift it to below your tongue, keeping it there for 1-2 minutes, before swallowing anything left in your mouth.

They recommend taking one tablet daily, but I’m aiming for around 30mg of CBD during testing, so I took one in the morning and two before bed.

You can take them at a time that suits you and your requirements, whether that’s an hour before bed or just as you wake up.

I would recommend starting off taking one per day and if you feel you require more then you can increase based on how your body reacts. Everyone has different tolerance levels and sensitivities, based on weight, age, previous consumption and plenty of other factors.

One benefit to these is you can pop them in your bag and chew on them in the office, while they’re more inconspicuous than dropping oil under your tongue.

How Much CBD Do These Contain?

Each tablet contains 10mg of CBD, while there are 30 tablets in a pack, meaning you get 300mg of CBD in the tub.

Considering the maximum recommended allowance is 70mg of CBD, set by the Food Standards Agency, this means you can have a max of 7 in a day. But as previously mentioned, they recommend one per day and I didn’t go near 7 in a single day.

There was also no THC found in the lab reports, with the only cannabinoid showing a trace being CBD.

How Many Calories Are In A Tablet?

I’ve been on a diet for 4 months (it feels like it never ends), therefore any time I consume something I have a quick check of the calorie count, so I can build it into my daily plan.

According to the nutritional data on the pack, each tablet doesn’t even contain a single calorie! It states 0.0045 kcal, coming from carbohydrates. That calorie count is equal regardless of the flavour you choose.

Where Can I Buy These From?

Regardless of the flavour you prefer, each of these are available for £30 from their website. I’d personally recommend starting off with the berry flavour.
