The latest CBD topical item to be reviewed on CBD Sloth, I’ve been taking a closer look at the Truverra CBD Balm. If this product sounds of interest to you, you might also want to check out the Truverra CBD lip balm as well.
How Does It Smell?
Apart from the obvious CBD scent that you expect, the closest thing I can relate it to is Werther’s original. It has that buttery and sweet scent, which I found really quite nice and warming, but that could have been my childhood eating Werther’s (I promise I’m not an 80 year old man).
How Much CBD Do You Get?
A single 30ml tub contains 300mg of CBD, which works out as 1%. As with all their other products, the product is full spectrum, meaning it will contain various other cannabinoids and terpenes, which have been shown to have various benefits beyond simply just CBD. If you want to learn more about this subject, have a read of my article on the entourage effect.
Truverra utilise prime European farms and also use cutting edge CO2 extraction methods. They also provide details of their third party lab test results online, which are worth looking at before making a purchase on any CBD product.
How Do I Apply The Balm?
Simply get a little bit on your finger and rub vigorously into the area you wish to apply it. As with any balm, you should rub for a while to ensure it is properly rubbed in. However, with CBD, it has to enter the blood stream, therefore I’d actually recommend rubbing for a bit longer than you would a normal balm. I rubbed it into my skin for around 30 seconds, but you can adjust the time based on what works best for you.
Personally, I like to do a cleanse beforehand if applying it to my face, to ensure the skin is clean and there isn’t any excess sebum or dirt preventing it from entering the pores. I would also recommend washing your hands properly beforehand.
Make sure not to get any in your eyes and if you do then you should wash instantly out. Just the same, if you have any skin irritation, you should wash it off straight away and contact the brand for advice on the subject.
Why Use A CBD Balm?
There are various benefits to CBD thanks to its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties. As you rub it into your skin, it can help to heal any wounds, as well as moisturise the skin. Various studies have been shown it to work against various skin ailments. The most common reasons people use CBD balms are for psoriasis, acne, eczema, dry skin and pain.
Psoriasis being the most common reason, the CBD can help to slow down skin cell growth as well as reducing inflammation. While more studies are required, there have been positive results around its use as a treatment for acne.
