charcoal face mask

Today I’m testing out another CBD face mask, this one the CBDFX hemp charcoal sheet mask. This is actually the second I’ve tried by this brand, the first being the hemp aloe vera face mask.

Why Use Activated Charcoal?

This is actually an area I know quite a lot about, considering I used to have a client which sold activated charcoal. You will find activated charcoal in ambulances all over the world for one key reason, it is amazing at absorbing. It could be your child has swallowed something poisonous and by swalling activated charcoal it will help to soak it up. Just the same, you could have been bitten by a snake and this can be used to pull out the venom.

While these might be drastic cases, the factor of being highly porous remains when we think about the skin. The activated charcoal helps to suck up any excess sebum (oil) or dirt that is trapped in the pores. For this reason, it is often used to tackle black heads and oily skin, making it a big seller for males going through their teenage years.

What Do I Do?

Before you even think about opening up the sheet mask, you should make sure to cleanse your face. This is important to increase the effectiveness of any mask. Make sure your hands are clean as well before touching your face. Dry off any excess moisture on the face before using the mask.

Take it out of the pack and you will find one side has a thin plastic covering, this is the side you put on your face. Remove the lining and place it over your face, matching the cuttings with the facial parts.

You should leave the mask on for 10 minutes. I’ve been asked in the past if you can leave it on to increase the effectiveness, you can leave it on a little longer, but most of the nutrients would have been soaked in after 10 minutes, so I wouldn’t keep it on for an excessive amount of time.

Who Is This Sheet Mask Ideal For?

Considering the ingredients used, this is ideal for those who have oily skin and are looking to remove the excess sebum and dirt from the pores. Having said that, this product isn’t limited to just those with oily skin, you should certainly give it a try even if you have dry skin, as the ingredients will help to add moisture back into the skin, offering you pure and bright skin.

How Much CBD Is Included In A Single Mask?

A single mask contains 20mg of CBD. This is a broad spectrum CBD, meaning it contains multiple cannabinoids and terpenes, allowing you to benefit from the entourage effect, but it doesn’t contain any THC.

Do I Wash My Face Afterwards?

No! I’ve only included this point as it is a surprisingly regularly asked question. While most of the ingredients would have soaked into the skin already, there will probably be some excess ingredients still slowly sinking in. If you wash your face, you will be removing all that goodness. So, leave it on and enjoy your fresh skin. If you like, you can rub some of the excess serum in with your fingers, but again, make sure to wash your hands beforehand.

Why Is There A Best Before Date On My Mask?

You will not be eating your mask (obviously) therefore these will tend to have a much longer date than the consumable products, but they still include a best before date, as some of the ingredients might lose potency after a number of years. You should be able to find the best before date at the top of the mask. When you order one, you should normally have at least a year left.

Where Can I Purchase It From?

The activated charcoal sheet mask can be purchased from the CBD FX website for £5.99 in the UK or $6.99 in the USA. You should keep an eye out for bundles they sometimes offer, allowing you to try multiple sheet masks.
