I find CBD based beauty items incredibly intriguing. People can talk about the positive psychological effects CBD oil has had on them, or how things have improved, however when you witness the difference with people suffering from eczema or skin irritation taking CBD balms, the results are truly astonishing. So today I’m going to be reviewing my first CBD beauty item, the Hemptouch therapeutic CBD skin balm.

Who Is The Target Audience?

The product offers acute care for problem, red, flaky and sore skin. It brings relief to itchy, irritated and blemish prone skin, therefore if you full under this category at all then you are there target market. An extra usage is if you’ve been bitten by an insect or if you’re suffering from a cold sore.

What Ingredients Do They Use?

The product contains shea butter, which offers a number of benefits, including how well it moisturises the skin, as a treatment for acne and blemish prone skin, reduced skin inflammation, anti-ageing agent as it stimulates the production of collagen helping to create elasticity in the skin, as well as providing relief to itchy skin.

The therapeutic skin balm also contains mango butter, which offers long lasting moisture and is suitable for all skin types. It’s packed full of nutrients and is a light and non-greasy ingredient.

Vitamin E is also present, which can help prevent the signs of ageing, it hydrates your skin and it can reduce sun damage, working amazingly when accompanied with your SPF to protect against those pesky rays.

Of course, the final ingredient I want to highlight is CBD (obviously). This natural compound has been embraced as the latest miracle cure against acne and sensitive skin, helping to reduce inflammation. However, unlike all these other miracle cures that come and go, CBD is heavily being proven in numerous studies. Just like the other ingredients in this list, it also works well when dealing with wrinkles, with its antioxidant properties, helping to fight against dull skin.

Branding

I shouldn’t be a sucker for branding, but I am, so hey, whatever. I really like the design and everything about the way they have created this. The finger print lines look great against the white packaging. Even the swirl when you open the top in the balm looks cool!

What Kind Of Testing Has Taken Place?

The product has been dermatologically tested, showing it is proven hypoallergenic, non-irritating and suitable for atopic and sensitive skin. Having previously worked in the beauty industry, I can tell you it costs an absolute fortune to get dermatologically tested, so they were committed to proving themselves and have come out with flying colours.

Where Can I Buy This From?

You can buy the Hemptouch therapeutic CBD skin balm from their website, while it can also be found in a number of stores along the highstreet. It is still cracking the UK, so you will undoubtedly see it in a lot more stores over the next 12 months.

How Much Do I Use?

You get a small finger tip amount (or pea sized as they love to put it on all beauty products) and massage it into your skin. You should look to use this product sparingly, but on a regular basis.

How long Should A Pack Last?

This is a hard one to say, considering mine isn’t empty, but using a pea sized amount of a 50 ml tub once per day, you should get about 8 weeks out of it. Unlike some of the edible options, this is a considerable amount longer.

Should I Use Therapeutic Or Soothing?

If you’ve taken a look at their product range and you don’t know which balm to choose, then this is what you should consider. Are you suffering from a flare up or have very sensitive skin at the moment? If so, you should definitely go for the much stronger therapeutic skin balm. Once it all eases up and your skin is recovering, you can switch to the softer Soothing Balm.
